Two years on… and still travelling with a camera

Two years ago today, I, Ngaire Ackerley, packed up and left my home country of New Zealand to travel the big wide world on a one-way ticket. I’d been to Europe before, having lived in Austria for 5-6 months, but this was different… it was a solo adventure and I was no-longer a student, but a professional Graphic and Web Designer who would work in London and travel whenever possible.

Since leaving New Zealand I’ve had my fair share of adventures. I’ve managed to hike amongst the Swiss Alps and visit the ‘Top of Europe’, take a snowmobile on a glacier in Iceland, spot a leopard in Kenya, get up-close and personal with mountain gorillas in Rwanda, Bungy jump 45 meters over the Nile river in Uganda and not to forget standing on an Egyptian Pyramid in Cairo, just to name a few experiences!

It has been a special two years since I left New Zealand. Professionally I’ve learnt new web technologies, pushed my creativity more and more and even won an award for ‘Best Photo’ in a World Wildlife Fund competition. This year I may not be heading to as intrepid zones as Africa, but it should still be an exciting year and I hope the years that follow this one, will be even better.

Reflecting on these wonderful moments I thought I would share a photograph from each country I have visited in the last two years. This does not include every city, because that would be exhausting to read. Please visit the links below the photographs if you would like to see more.
