A Proud kiwi through and through is who I am.

Given that I am a New Zealander living in London during the Olympic Games this year, I felt compelled to dedicate a blog post to the games. I have been fortunate enough to be at various venues to watch the Olympics. The Opening Ceremony was watched at Hyde Park, rowing was watched twice at Eton Dorney, the athletics finals and heats from the Olympic Stadium itself, and several other events were seen from my living room, the work studio/office (usually in my lunch-break) and not to forget London’s own ‘Kiwi House’ (before it temporarily went up in flames).

New Zealand is a very proud sporting nation. We may be a small country but we still manage to produce some top-notch talent in various sports. Personally I come from a rowing/coxswain background, having coxed for my high school, club teams and represented the Waikato and Bay of Plenty in regional rowing. So it’s obvious that rowing is my favourite Olympic sport, which is just as well given that New Zealand has done so well in the sport this year!

Below are some photographs that I have taken during the London 2012 Olympic Games. As the games draw to an end, I’ve decided to share the following images as a tribute to the Olympic athletes and the fantastic kiwis that have made every New Zealander around the world proud.
